Road Repair Update - August 27th @3:37PM

The good news: the watermain break has been repaired

The bad news is, due to the heavy rainfall we have received over this last week, paving will be delayed until next week.

Road Repair Update - August 27th @3:37PM

1. Contractor Delay

Unfortunately, our contractor won’t be able to begin work until Tuesday, August 19th. While we could seek alternatives, our current contractor consistently delivers high-quality work at 40–60% lower cost, making them the most cost-effective choice. The County has reviewed the damages and we have received instruction and the repairs with be approximately 2 weeks in turn around time.

2. Full Lane Replacement Required

After a thorough review with the contractor, it’s confirmed that both lanes must be replaced due to extensive asphalt damage. We’ve contacted the county to validate this assessment.

3. Long-Term Improvements

On a positive note, all piping under the affected asphalt will be replaced, significantly reducing the risk of future leaks in that section for many years.

4. Cost-Saving Measures

We’ll also be installing additional piping during this project, which is expected to save over $200,000 in future expenses.

For more details, please attend the board meeting next Thursday, August 21st, where directors will ask questions and a deeper discussion will take place.

We’ll continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.
